I decided to open this up because a lot the people I talk to and a lot of other fans believe this team needs to make some moves, whether it be to retool for the future or to make a push for the playoffs.  Here is where we can pitch our ideas and discuss them appropriately.  Just a few orders of business:

1. If you are able to do so, use the ESPN Trade Machine feature and then write a little blurb on why you think it'll work/why you think we'll like it.  It's the easiest and most efficient way to promote a quality discussion about potential moves and saves everyone time by not having to read complicated posts.

2. Make the trades legitimate for the most part.  Just because the trade machine allows you to trade Brandon Jennings for Ricky Rubio, doesn't mean you should be posting that on here.  Wishful thinking can be permitted, but not insanity.

Thanks!  Looking forward to seeing what ideas you have!

From Chad Ford's chat today:

Bryan (Madison, WI)

January 16, 2013. Bucks trade Ersan Ilyasova, Beno Udrih and Sameul Dalembert for Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill. See that happening?

Chad Ford
(1:19 PM)

Actually, I do think that's a real possibility. I think the only real fear in Milwaukee is that ability to re-sign Gasol. Other than that, it's a deal that works for both teams.

Yikes.

I am particularly fond of this one:

Trade? Foye and Al Jefferson for Ellis, Dalembert, and Harris or (Ellis Harris and Ilyasova)

Fiscally sound?  Sho nuff.  So says the MACHINE

Reasoning?  The Bucks desperately need front court scoring on a consistent basis.  Larry has been a blessing this year, but Ersan and Dalembert have not cut it.  Al Jefferson has proven over his career that he can put points on the board and grab rebounds.  Defensively he is not a God, but every other big on our team would be considered a defensive specialist so that makes up for it.  As for Foye, he is not the perfect 2 guard for the Bucks on the Jazz. That would be Alex Burks, but I just don't see the Jazz sending him out unless they get equal young talent in return and I am not sure that they are high enough on Harris to make that move.  Therefore, Foye or Gordon Hayward would the best two options for us.

Overall rating? B+

The Bucks will be getting much needed offensive help in the front court, but will also lose some defensive scoring presence down low as well.  Not that Dalembert and Ellis (or Ilyasova) are defensive wizards, but because Jefferson would likely be taking minutes from Ekbe, Larry, and Luc.  However, I think the positives greatly outweigh the negatives here and if this trade is out there that Hammonds should pull the trigger!

I'm not in love with it. I think Pau is a short term solution kind of guy - he's only going to be good for another year and a half or so and then the team is back in the same boat it's always in.

I am addicted to the Trade Machine, even though I have a very basic understanding of the inner workings of how an NBA team works.

Here are a few of mine:
http://espn.go.com/n...tradeId=cr5srvy

Nuggets get a 2nd round pick in this deal. They get more bench talent (which is the Nugget's life blood) The Hawks can push Monta to the 2 guard or can split minutes with Louis Williams for the scoring punch. (This part is kind of redundant, but I realized that too late).

The Bucks get Korver to start at 2 guard, Teague is a viable backup point guard, and Kostas is a very solid back-up point guard.

Downside? Monta's huge contract eats up cap space the Hawks need to attract a big name free agent and keep their books clean.

http://espn.go.com/n...tradeId=bo74t3l
Daryl Morley loves big splashy moves, right?! RIGHT?! These next two trades would never happen but I like them. Once again, Monta is an off the bench guy that can give Houston a scoring push from either the point guard or 2-spot. They have lots of depth in the wings and we need help with it. Most important, I wanna see Carlos back in the saddle for Milwaukee! Houston gets a 2nd rounder.

http://espn.go.com/n...tradeId=dxsanl4
This trade need K-Mart to take a huge scoring dip and Mike Dunleavy needs to go crazy. Kevin is playing too well right now and is shooting the lights out. Thunder get a future 1st round pick and Grizzlies get a 2nd round pick. Jeremy Lamb would be a solid building block with Wayne playing his role and Tony bolstering the 2nd unit if we don't resign (or if we deal) Beno.

I LOVE that trade!!! ^^^

I would hate to see Henson go, but I think we could build better with Cousins. Oh God, could you imagine Cousins @ center and Larry Sanders @ Power Forward. Oh man...

I don't think the Kings would go for that. They'd probably want at least Henson, Sanders, Harris, and some picks. Ellis can be a free agent after this year so there's no point in Sacramento trading for him and they already have enough scoring guards.

I think this trade would be good for both teams. Milwaukee gets an offensive presence in the post and a bigger SG to replace Ellis. Jefferson is a FA at the end of the year so they risk losing him but it's no different than the situation with Ellis and they may be more inclined to resign Jefferson. The Jazz get some much needed help on the perimeter to pair with their bigs and they get a good defensive big in Udoh and gives them a little insurance for their frontcourt in case Millsap were to leave in free agency.

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN got this idea from NBA Trade Season: Brandon Jennings, Monta Ellis and the win-now vs. win-later debate - Brew Hoop

Bucks get Gasol, Varejao and Meeks

La gets Illyasova (in place of Gooden), Dalembert, and Udrih

Cleveland gets Udoh and Harris and a first round pick from Milwaukee

Bucks lineup could be:

Jennings/ Lamb (Ellis could play point and could always have one of them on the floor)

Ellis/ Meeks/ Lamb

Mbah a Moute/ Dunleavy/ Daniels

Gasol/ Henson/ Gooden

Varejao/ Sanders/ Przybilla

What are your thoughts???

Seems like the Lakers aren't getting much in return for Gasol, but I suppose they're just acquiring depth at this point. I think it would take more for Cleveland to part with Varejao too and I think the Lakers might be interested in him in this scenario.

Actually way more reasonable than it all seems though.

@Jeremy Schmidt

What else would we have to give up for Varejao?  Are you thinking another pick or Lamb or Henson? I would give them the pick but not either of those two IMO.

And what else would we need to give to La? IMO La gets what they need in Illyasova- a stretch 4- and a back-up for Nash-IMO (Udrih can create- something La badly needs)

What are your thoughts?

Why complicate things: let's do Monta for Jefferson straight up.

I'd Love to see this trade.

Bucks get: A. Affalo (From Magic)

                    Moe Harkless (From Magic)

                    Patrick Patterson (From Houston)

Houston get: M. Ellis (From Bucks)

                        J. Henson (From Bucks)

Magic get: C. Delfino (From Houston)

                    Terrance Jones (From Houston)

                    D. Lamb (From Bucks)

It worked on the Trade Machine but I couldn't get the link to work.

Yeah it's tough to say where that trade would need to be modified, but I have a feeling Cleveland would hold out for more for Varejao. I guess it's just kind of a too good to be true type thing for me, you know? Milwaukee gets pretty much the three best players in the deal.

I would really like this trade. In those 2 years that Gasol will be productive, he will for sure be better than Ersan. The team would need to quickly find a backup PG (Ridnour?), but I like it.

Gasol would draw a lot of fan interest and he would make the Bucks a top 4 team in the East this season. If the team isn't going to tank, then they might as well go after Gasol,
