If we got collisun, another player and a first round pick, i would take this in a heartbeat. What does everyone else think?

I like Collison, but I'd have to say no to this trade. And all indications point to the fact that Hammond is keeping Jennings in Milwaukee and rolling the dice this summer. Even if we include Gooden in this trade and get rid of him (finally), we'd end up getting a bad contract in return. It just doesn't seem worth it.

Get a couple Draft picks and Trade him!

Look I love Jennings, but he ain't taking us to no championship or anything close. He could excel in Dallas, but he won't excel here. All in all, we can do better at PG. Trade him, and let's get a couple draft picks. If we get picks we don't even have to get rid of Gooden.

Assuming we get picks out of it, then yes, it's a better deal. Though this next draft is projected to be one of the weakest in recent memory, so the picks may not mean a ton, depending on how Dallas finishes this year.

If I'm Milwaukee, I don't listen to Dallas unless:

1. They're willing to give up this year's 1st round pick.

2. They're willing to give us Kaman's expiring contract while taking on Gooden's contract.

Edit: I don't even care if Collison is included.  I'd happily take Kaman's expiring $8 million and their 1st round pick for Jennings and Gooden.  The salaries work.

From what the guys are saying on RealGM, it's highly unlikely the Mavs can trade their 1st round pick this year. So without that, there really isn't any good looking trades we can do with the Mavs in my eyes. If we could somehow swing OJ Mayo, I'd be all for that, but I'm not exactly how likely that is. Closest thing to my liking would be:

Bucks get: Mayo, Collison, Marion

Mavs get: BJ, Monta

Apparently something is wrong with the links the trade machine is spitting out, but whatever it worked in the trade machine.

If he doesn't get traded, this is all going to blow over once February is over, and BJ starts playing decent again. It's inevitable. Then that will make the front office want to him exorbitant amounts of money after the season.

I tell ya what, being a true Bucks fan is one of the hardest things in the universe. Sometimes I want to slit my wrists, and sometimes I want to shout out my apartment window how awesome this team is. ugh

One thing....

Everyone keeps making the argument that Hammond/Bucks will give Jennings the MAX contract, and that is what they find uncomfortable.

However, if they were so eager to give Jennings max contract, why wouldn't they have signed Jennings last summer?

I think they want to be fair with BJ so that HE is comfortable with any extension, but I have not seen any sign of the front office suddenly loosing their minds over the value of Jennings to the Bucks.

Chris Kamen & D. Collison for B. Jennings & Drew Gooden sounds good and works out for Bucks on trade machine but idk really about this trade. I like Jennings in Milwaukee. Why don't we look into what's out there in free agencyat the end of season?

That sounds good in theory, but in reality, any free agent that we bring in will likely have to be overpaid, and we'll have no shot at a CP3/Dwight kinda guy.  We could overpay and give someone like Josh Smith/Al Jefferson max money and hope that that's enough to get them to come to Milwaukee (not even looking at how much cap space we'll have), but yeah... small market teams have to build through the draft.

Oklahoma City wouldn't have had a chance in hell of signing someone like Durant in free agency, but if you hit on a draft pick, you have at least 3 years or so to make them comfortable and make them not want to leave, and the best way to do that is by building a winning team through the draft the way OKC has.

Edit: Having said that, Milwaukee has built a pretty solid team, but they need that one go-to guy that can get us over the hump.  It would be nice if we could get into the top 10 of this year's draft and take a chance on someone, or we can stay pat and go for someone like Otto Porter or Tony Mitchell and see if they turn into go-to guys.  Who knows.

If we move Jennings, I'd love to get my hands on Michael Carter-Williams and pair him with Monta Ellis, where Ellis's lack of size would be offset by MCW's great size.

There's no indication that Hammond is willing to give Jennings the max, and no team in the league is going to be stupid enough to do that. Hammond's decision not to give him the extension before this season was to get a better gauge of whether or not he's improved enough to warrant that type of money, and so that we don't necessarily get stuck giving him more than he's worth.

Granted, that could backfire if a team decides to give him a ridiculous contract, like with Landry Fields in Toronto for instance, but it's a risk Hammond was obviously willing to take.

All signs point to him being willing to match any offer made for Jennings this summer. Unless he suddenly gets traded, all we can do is wait and see.
